I wouldn’t hold my breath on an offer. You just never know right now. I would say to do your research, so you know if it does happen. Wait for them to give you a number and then decide on what to do.
Why wait? Do the research now. You don't want there to be a lengthy delay between their offer and your counter.
Always know your target number and the job compensation range. Be ready to negotiate and ALWAYS negotiate, it's expected. People that do not negotiate get the lowest of the low end of the employers range.
Search Glassdoor, LinkedIn, and ask around like through phone screening with other similar roles at other companies what they think market rate is for your years of experience and skills. I personally will talk very openly about compensation with at least 3 recruiters before I feel like I know how much I can get in the same market & industry I'm interviewing in.
When talking salary, make sure they know you're flexible and open to work together on finalizing the details and you shouldn't have a problem locking in an offer. Best wishes.
Go for it!
