My supervisor often leaves team messages around midnight so we can start work early the next day. He says he doesn’t mean to stress us out, he’s just afraid he’ll forget what to tell us if he waits until morning. I understand his intention, but honestly, those late-night messages really affect me. I find myself thinking about work all night, and it feels like my personal time is being invaded. This kind of behavior appropriate in a work environment? How would you handle a situation like this?

Tell him to schedule the message to go out in the AM. It's 2026, we have the technology. Shouldn't be an issue, and if he feels you need that info the night before then ask why. There will not be a good reason.

I agree with this, I'll schedule send emails / teams chats so my east coast colleagues can action them during their work day, it should be possible to do on mobile

Be happy you have a Supervisor that communicates.

Sounds like Something an HR. Officer would say. Unless your specifically on call, then any and everything should be conveyed during working hours... remember he says he does it so he doesn't forget. Sounds like a multi-tasking issue to me.

Schedule send exists for a reason.

like

Just don’t open the message until the next day, like your supervisor says is his intention.

I'm trying to hold my itchy finger and ignore the red balloon next to the apps

You don't have to check Teams at midnight. I get messages at all hours but just stop looking at my work phone past a certain point.

I'm thinking to turn my mobile offline during my sleeping hours

Unless your work gave you a work phone and clearly outline that you have to acknowledge these messages in a reasonable timeframe. Aka you can't look at them when sleeping.
Then just don't look at it. Be an adult and set clear boundaries between working hours and personal hours

I felt like want to uninstall working apps in my smartphone, but company policy expect us to have that for any urgent calls.

If it really bothers you then just talk to your supervisor and ask him to schedule send. But it would be more efficient for you to just learn to set your own boundaries nad ignore any messages past a certain time since that way your supervisor doesn't have to set the schedule send timer every single night. And it would honestly be better for you in the long run.

I send emails and messages to my teams at all sorts of weird times because I have kids. So sometimes I will take some extra time off to have dinner with them and put them to bed and end up working later. Or they will wake me up at 4AM and I can't get back to sleep so I might as well just get some work done.

Understood.

I dont see anything wrong with it. I feel like when you leave the job, you should be able to leave it there, no matter what your Supervisor texts or emails...

I don't know what message platform you use or if it is email, but doesn't he know that you can time messages to be automatically sent later? Geez that's been around for decades.

Or they can ghost me ? Can it happen in Larsen & Toubro Infotech that after clearing both rounds they won't go forward for further process ?

Thanks

Hi,

I am graduating this December and looking for full time roles starting January 2023. I have 2 years of data science work experience before my Masters and I'm currently working part-time as a data science engineer - building data pipelines, dashboards; optimizing, packaging and deploying ML models.

I'm looking for referrals in data science space. I can share my github profile/resume/github page if you need more information. Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I’m graduating in December, with a background in environmental economics and policy. Consulting didn’t work out this cycle. Made it to final rounds for Bain and Kearney but in the end didn’t get an offer. I want to recoup and try again, but I’m worried that once I’m out of undergrad the door will be closed to starting in consulting.

What can I do to make this happen? I have friends and connections at Bain and Kearney and the other firms as well, but not sure if it’s feasible now.
