My wife and I are expecting our second in a few months. We are thinking about renting a Snoo. Has anyone rented or bought one? Is it worth it? We were broke and in grad school when we had our first so it wasn’t an option then.

We call it the magic machine. Best baby investment we made

Thanks!

We bought it for 720$ 2 years ago, used it for 6 months and sold it for 600$. Best purchase we ever made.

Thanks all, I appreciate the advice!

Absolutely worth it. Easy to resell or rent. No issues with weening. Could not more strongly recommend.

Yes. Don’t even question it. Rent it.

We purposely avoided the Snoo because we were worried our newborn son would become dependent. Instead, we followed the 12hrs by 12 weeks approach (buy the book, a very quick and easy read) and had our son sleeping through the night by 9.5 weeks. We also belong to Tribeca Pediatrics in NYC, well respected and fairly progressive (founded by a French pediatrician) that advocated the cry it out method. I myself am a physician and fairly conservative re child development, so we meshed all of these approaches and in the end were very happy to let our baby soothe himself. Has slept 12hrs every night for the past 4months, even when we brought him to altitude!

Mck1 this describes my views and experience also—down to Tribeca pediatrics, and my son sleeping 12 hours a night from 9.5 weeks (for 3 months now).

Amazing device. Helps babies sleep longer. Rocks and provides its own white noise. Dunno how wifey and I would be surviving. Little one is 2 months.

Had a buddy that had one and it didn’t work for him, worked like a charm for my sister’s kid though, so prob worth a shot

I cannot speak to the SNOO, but my wife used the "Moms on Call" sleep training program with our son (3 years) and daughter (4 months).

The results were amazing for both: sleeping from 7:30pm to 7am starting at 2 months.

The Snoo was amazing. We got one for our second child and it probably saved our sanity. He ramped down without any issues. He now sleeps a solid 13-14 hours each night.
