can’t call it an industry if no one can find a job.
Agree on LD.
My unpopular opinion is that a good account person is just as vital to an agencies (and the works) success as a good creative. And they’re far rarer.
1000% and they are very rare.
Hiring big Hollywood directors to direct 30 second spots is dumb 99% of the times.

and a snoop cameo
hmmmmm. i'm seeing several linkedin posts about LD actually being cool and punk and they even used some swears in their post. would an extremely corny person do something like that??
Jason Bagley is a joke.
I don’t get it.
Last one: the “oh I miss the old advertising” Linkedin people are insufferable.

The who’s left?!?
Pickles should be called pickled cucumbers
90% of the time ad agencies are basically just a glorified middleman to production companies. Since most big companies that can afford an agency have sooo many layers of stakeholders, we end up just basically just making the RTB slop they want without any real strategy, idea, or craft intact in our silly little decks. They give us the money, then we give it out to production partners to make the actual work.
Mad men more like middle men am I right folks

The PM role has grown to become too powerful. Those of us who create are actually advertising executives–our job titles (VP, SVP, etc.) and salaries reflect that basic fact. PMs are basically support staff whose primary job is to make life easier for us so we can do our jobs with less friction. Their basic attitude should be: “Good morning! How can I help?” And not, “Hey, that X project was due EOD yesterday. Where is it?” Or, “Hey, why did you bill 2 hours on that email last week? I only gave you .25 hours.!”
They are so useless. I can create my own work back schedule thank you very much.
Real people don't give a shit about advertising.

Maybe but in our new microplastic world, canned water is a pretty useful idea.
The interior lining of the can is made from plastic materials. Maybe not exclusively plastic, but it just goes to show how utterly manipulative marketing and advertising is.
Yep. Awards are dumb. Literally got an internal message. “Do your part and vote for our Webby noms. Use multiple email address!” If people are just stuffing the ballot box for their own things, then what’s the point?

I mean, that’s lame. There’s 2 different webbies webbys? And I’d never put a people’s choice award on my advertising resume…or if I was in the activation that’s just a popularity contest.
The RTO objectors need to grow up... I have not heard of any agencies that require folks in office more than 3 days per week. I think all the complaining and "special arrangements" are going to put the hybrid style in further jeopardy.
