I’m working in a large fund; market neutral public market strategy funds; am about to be recommended for a promotion to associate. However, an analyst position just opened up internally in Credit, which is where I aspire to be for the next ten years. More growth and more intellectual challenge. I’m conflicted about applying for a lateral transfer and losing out on a promotion. Will I be missing out a promotion or should I negotiate a promotion as part of my application to this role ?

Hi guys, I am currently working as a Consultant in consultancy firm based out of US and soon would be completing a year.

Even though the firm is good culture wise, I cannot stop thinking about the wage pay gap that we have here. For example, a senior consultant (from a tier1 college) makes double of what a consultant does but the problem is that work/accountability/ expectation wise the posts are actually the same. Question: Folks who joined with higher salaries(4x, 5x, etc of YOE) recently.
1. How are they treating you in the new company w.r.t. work and responsibilities?
2. What happens if your teammates accidentally come to know your package?
3. Are you a replacement for someone who resigned like you and have to take up his/her work?

Auditing almost serves no value besides a few misstatements here and there. Every company and analyst is reporting on non-gaap figures. The numbers we don't even audit

How does underwriting compare to PIP litigation in terms of flex time (ability to stop/start work throughout day, work at 2 am if needed, etc)

For example.. in PIP Litigation I can review my suits at 2 am if needed (as a result of having a rough day or other emergency) and still be in compliance

Does Underwriting carry any time sensitive tasks?

Hello, I wanted to mention that I work as a sports commentator, specifically about soccer. I used to be one of the main journalists for Spanish media, but since I moved to Miami I feel the general passion for soccer is very different 🥲 The energy and commitment are not even close to what I felt in Spain, where some businesses would close if the match was too important. I hope this nostalgia goes away soon.

Should you discuss salary range with an internal company recruiter prior to setting up an interview? With external recruiters it’s pretty easy to talk about the expected range. I am trying to avoid wasting all of our time if i get to the last interview and they are expecting a salary that is too low for me.
