It's nice to get some recognition when you've done a good job. I'm wondering if you've made it clear you don't like to be singled out for praise and your management is respecting that. Perhaps you could let them know that some recognition now and then would be perfectly acceptable.
I’m also the type of person who doesn’t love a ton of praise or recognition, but a tiny bit might be nice! Whenever the time is right, share those good numbers.
You've never seen the sign.
Nursing is like peeing on yourself.
You get a warm feeling inside......
But no one notices.
Can't resist this other sign we had.
Management will not be providing gym memberships
You nurses get enough exercise.

I can completely understand where you’re coming from. I’ve watched through many decades of nursing - call it savy or calculating where nurses who often do the least advertise them themselves the most . When you are doing your best and giving you all, I guess we all hope somebody will notice. I had to learn that the patients knew and so did I, and that is where it counts. A bigger lesson perhaps is that YOU define your worth and that will lead too much more peace of mind . I don’t know if you religious the poem by Mother Teresa called Anyway I kept inside my locker for 30 years . You sound a little beaten down and perhaps a couple of days off might help . If affected monetarily, unfortunately, in today’s world, you need to announce your goodness rather than let it speak for itself.. sad but true(( much in the same way the documentation has become more important than the car itself) both sad and true
