I haven't completely left yet, but I should be able to get out of the hospital soon enough. I went in with a few fellow nurse friends to buy a medispa doing Botox, fillers, facials, all that sort of thing. We've only been open 3 months and are already turning a solid profit from all the referrals. I told myself I wouldn't quit my full time job until we'd been open at least a year, but if things keep up like this, I might have to. It's both terrifying and exciting.
This is amazing. Good luck to all of you!!!!
After working hands on in the ER and hospice I went to transition to remote work but it’s so difficult to find.
It’s very difficult. Hope you find something. This is the only way I was able to stay in nursing
I haven't left yet, though I doubt I have more than a year or two left in me. A friend of mine left nursing to work as a hostess at an upscale restaurant. She makes more money now than she did as a nurse, and for way less stress and fewer hours. That says a lot about how society treats nurses, doesn't it?
I was 20 yo, installing cable for a living. Figured i wasn't helping anyone, i wanted to make a difference and help people. Decided to go into nursing. Im now 53 yo and I should have stayed at the cable job. It doesn't pay much to keep people alive. I think companies guilt those of us that care... we get paid less and work more.
