NY specific question: my last firm paid for case tracking through elaw. I’m joining a new firm with active matters but no elaw account. I see that ecourts has an “etrack” feature. Do I need elaw? Or can I get appearance notifications etc automatically through ecourts? Is there anything that elaw does that ecourts does not? Thank you!

I use my friends elaw password bc inexplicably my cheap firm doesn’t use it

I haven’t used eLaw since 2017 (same situation, new firm didn’t have it) but since mandatory e-filing I’ve found that and eCourts gets the job done.

Elaw integrates with many case management programs. If it's compatible with your case management software, it will populate your calendar directly and change the calendar entries anytime the court moves or adds an appearance. Of course, if your firm is too cheap to pay for elaw, they probably don't have good (any) case management software.

e track is direct from the courts. I use it all the time

Is it fair game to report someone’s particularly polarizing IG posts to HR? Was friendly with this person but now I wouldn’t ever want to work with them after some of the things they’ve posted.

I got selected in LTI, the offered CTC is less than my current CTC, HR says they have budget constraints.

They were aware about my current CTC right from the first call.

I also shared the counter offer that I'm holding. (Offered CTC > Current CTC)
Switch won't make sense if I don't get the basic hike.

How can I convince them to revise my offer? YOE -3.2 yrs

Hi all! I work at a nonprofit and am looking to leave the organization. As I browse available positions in my area, I’m realizing there is a LOT of crossover between my current org and others, for example shared board members, folks who are on our board and employed at one of the institutions I’m interested in, etc.. Is there a way to say “my current org doesn’t know I’m looking, so please treat my interest with discretion” that doesn’t raise red flags? Thanks!

Hello RSM coworkers! I am thrilled to be moving to RSM into a Scheduler roll. I just found out yesterday and want to be as prepared as possible in the next steps.

So here are my questions.

How long does the background study take? I'm guessing admin staff have a study that is faster and less complicated than someone in Tax ect.

When training at home what did you need that wasn't supplied by RSM? My home office is well stocked but I want to be as prepared as possible.

Thanks in advance!

I currently work at a small PI firm in Atlanta were EVERYTHING is settled presuit. If we’re unable to settle, then it’s referred to another firm for litigation. This whole process seems very atypical to me and the attorneys rarely touch a file until the first liability offer is received. The paralegals handle everything from intake to drafting the demands. The attorney briefly skims (does NOT read) the demand packages and signs. Is this ethical?? Anyone else work at a firm that is run this way??
