Okay, but why do all these job descriptions make it sound like I need to have already lived through a couple of lifetimes to be considered? They want experience, expertise, energy, and then hit you with the pay scale of someone fresh out of high school. Can we please get some realism in these listings?

Sadly because they can. They know its a buyers market. Excess of talent. They can look for the unicorns and not care about the people. We can only hope that when the pendulum swings the other way people will remember. But they likely wont.

I actually have replied to several recruiters wishing them luck finding their unicorns at the rate they offer.

My Dad owned a company called Flares and Stacks. It's in Conroe or was he died. The last of his unicorn skilled set. So my uncle got robbed n he was the money man. But my dad was the people person that started out not finishing the 8th grade, to being homeless...then him and his brother...well his brother my uncle got fired from some oil refinery in Pasadena tx. So mu uncle a cleaned up man handled the money and analysis of the operation my dad and the money they made from hard work and he believed in quality over quantity and was very very good w anyone. Went from nothing to company right before he died at a net worth of 7 billion. My uncle retired years ago. My dad stayed in the field the unicorn. His hard work payed off. When he died had his house payed off in the Woodlands. With other side investments but loved to gamble too. He lost at times 10k on betting what color 🙄 Kool aid they were going to pour on the coaches head after winning back in tha day. My mom left 😢 recently too and she was always creative always into real estate but also a FT nurse. So she was a poor money manager so usually ppl handled he money smdh 😒 she just loved decorating the vacation rentals. How inexpensive it is to build make trails, things to do for families staying at her properties and made more money doing that during her " retirement " and it was much more fulfilling another creative unicorn doing what they love ❤️ until they vanquished while providing a great future for me and my children. Now I still understand who weilds the power in negotiations and what not. The one that loves their job, and it shows. I'll take that unicorn over 1 billion dodo 🦤 birds.

That sets creative, skilled people from ppl who think they have arrived. This meme is sad but true for most. But only if you continue on w the rat race. Honestly no one knows all of the experience either have. And it's not a competition but seems childish to assume bc a person is not where you think you will be ??? It seems shallow. But ppl are weird like that. Obviously shows lack of knowledge. For the person showing a slob looking person hunched over. Accepting what your offering. Get the job first day duh. Then focus on your side goals. Still stay on track w your 25 yr plan. Keep building wealth and know every job, or experience is just another tool to use to gain knowledge. Or you can use it to assume things due to brain rot. I digress

We have a project that would generate social impact, and our short term goal is to propose it to ASHOKA to help us develop it. Before that we would like to assemble a team that will be part of "the board" with all the resources we are needind and most importantly people that "empathically share our preoccupation for the immigrants". Any kind of feedback or volunteer would be appreciated.

3 YOE in Marketing through internships in college, followed by 2 years Financial Operations/Data Tools full-time. I got an offer for $75K at TekSystems for a Market Analyst role. I gave them a range of $70-75K, so they gave the max. But I am questioning asking for a bit more given insurance is apparently on the higher-end and I want to ensure I didn't low-ball myself.

Just to note, this is about a 25% increase compared to what I am currently making.

I’m in a little of a pickle but a good one. Offer A. Established “start up” doing well financially and projected to hit profitability. 130k base. Stocks offered, unlimited PTO, and 70% Medical covered. Offer B. Is at a business much larger…90k salary with 10% bonus and generous stock offering. Titles are different which is why the pay is much different. I know some may think it is a no brainer but offer A allows me to grow the department ground up whereas offer B id be apart of to just different
