I'm a HUGE 🐶🐶🐶 person... But when the client on the phone is like: "Is that a DOG BARKING in the background?!", while I'm covering my other year to hear them, I draw the line... That and daily all company wide emails "please don't give my dog grapes, it gets sick, and please don't throw your chocolate candy wrappers in your desk trashcan, cause Fluffy is allergic, and please don't teach my dog tricks". I can go on..
What kind of hell holes do you guys all work in? We’ve had days where there have been 5 dogs in the office in fairly close proximity with zero issues re: barking/dogs eating weird shit, etc. The little dogs usually stay on a person’s desk or in their lap, the big dogs sleep on the floor, and the dogs that tend to wander are kept on leashes so they can’t stray too far from their owners’ desks. No wonder people hate dogs in your offices if the people who bring them in treat the office like a dog park
I think dogs are fine, but at some point it gets to be too much. If your dog is not trained well, or it shits all over the office or barks it's like, have some sense. This is an office, not a kennel and having dogs is a perk.
ALSO, I know some people are allergic to dogs and some people are afraid of them. I dunno. I have mixed feelings.

Somebody had a good suggestion about grapes, raisins and chocolate.. that will show them. Don't just complain do something about it. Burn the office to the ground!! Or just stop being so bothered by it and suck it up. Unless you're allergic or the dogs are terribly behaved then just chill. If they're not, you can always talk to the owner and identify your actual issues with their pets to find a resolution
This is how I feel when people bring babies into the office 😬 Except the only office dogs I’ve ever been around are always quiet, well behaved good boys.
Train your dogs you shithead owners! The quality of life for the dog is better for it.

I think office dogs are great! Whenever puppies are brought into the office for specific events, people’s mood just change, everyone is in a great mood!!

Not a fan...not as extreme but similar to bringing your kid to work on the regular.
To everyone appalled at the lack of enthusiasm for your work dog: The problem is not your dog, it’s you. We think you are lazy, cheap and inconsiderate. You burden the office with your responsibility. Dogs are wonderful, but work is work. The yelps, the barks, the wandering, the close calls of being stepped on, the accidents: you subject everyone to this and can’t focus on what you need to do, which is work.
Are there usually rules about office dogs? I’ve never been in a dog office before. I love dogs but mine would spend his whole day trying to be everyone’s friend. That would get crazy annoying for everyone around me.
Shouldn't the fine vary from carpet to hard surfaces?
