One reason many smart companies stagnate:
They become too consensus-driven. Alignment matters. But excessive agreement often signals declining intellectual honesty.
Healthy tension is productive.

Both problems can exist at the same time. Some organizations suffer from fragmentation, others from excessive consensus. The real objective isn’t constant agreement or constant debate it’s creating an environment where people can challenge ideas openly without losing alignment on direction.

I think this is true in principle, but I’ve always encountered the opposite at my employers so far: disconnect, lack of communication, and not enough alignment. I can see how it could be overdone though.

My friend and I (both Asian and gay) were seating at the cafe on the 2nd floor of Saks Fifth Ave today waiting for our table for the restaurant on the 9th floor. She said she has walked all floors and never saw a thing for men. Then she threw curse at me. I stood up and asked her to repeat what she said. She pulled her phone and called 911

Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations

They need me at my job, but I’m being way under paid. I’ve asked twice for a pay increase. (With a no a a response) I want to put in my two weeks notice to see if they would consider giving me a pay increase.. but I don’t have a back up plan right now to do so. Any suggestions. It hard for them to find employees and the turn over rate is to the rooftop! I would be hard to replace at a short notice now that they are hiring like four new physicians and providers

What's the best form of compensation to ask for and why?

My employers' CEO just announced that they just received $7 million from investors. He wants to use that money to offer incentives to employees that hussle and drive more revenue for the company. Cash bonuses, raises, profit-sharing, company equity, 401k match, etc.

Got offered 68k after 2 years as a contractor (62.5k) doing project management/business admin in a tech department at a Fortune 500 bank. I have an A.S degree and working on my bachelor’s/masters may 2024. I negotiated to 84k NYC. I have seen interns get offered 38 per hour (79k) for internship positions with a similar role.

Thoughts? Should I go higher? I do my job well that’s why they decided to keep me as a contractor after my internship.

A coworker and I Both have been a tech for the same amount of years but she got 1.50 more than I did. How do I bring this up as the supervisor mentioned that we shouldn’t be talking about our raises.

Right now I’m working as a junior product engineer in Amsterdam. From januari on I’ll be a medior product engineer. And now I’m in the middle of negotiating about my salary increase. The salary that I’m being offered feels low (41.5k).
Is there an other product engineer that could tell me if my gut feeling is right or not? Thanks in advance!

Does JP Morgan email the initial offer after final interview or does the recruiter call?

There’s no guarantee that I will be offered a job at company B but my gut is telling me that company B would be a better fit for me. Should I accept the offer from company A, continue interview process with company B and then rescind my offer with company A if company B offers me a job? Will I be burning bridges?
