That’s micromanaging on steroids. Wow! The surveillance is real. It’s also an intimidation and control tactic. BIG BROTHER is always 👀That type of stress sucks!
Keep your head down, do your job, go to the bathroom or for a quick break when needed, and don’t look back.
Gross.
Its bordering on coercive control. If I was a boss and have been 3 times in a job I would have considered it psychopathic to monitor anyones bathroom usage but most managers do and hence why very few people appreciate their boss. Its like work is prison and its meant to break you lol.
It’s like, “you hired me, if you don’t trust me, then why did you hire me?”
Do it back to her. Start stacking up your messages and only send them whenever she loses her green dot.
Wait, 30 seconds after her dot goes yellow and then shoot her a message.
Let her know what it feels like. 😤
Tell her you had a really complicated issue you were thinking through.
Toxic
You can always take your phone (provided you have the teams app on it) to the loo. I’d do that when I was looking for my current job, where I thankfully have way more agency! I feel for you. It’s not fun having a micromanager!
And this is why phones are so dirty. 😭
If they whine over you going to the bathroom tell them that its natural and by holding it in too long will get you a UTI if its applicable. Do they do this when you take a break for lunch for example?
It seems the Manager has too much time on their hands. If I were a business owner/leader-I would look over their work and perhaps consider getting rid of that position if she wasn't contributing to the workload.
