I've run things over in my head, but haven't actually rehearsed lines. I want to be confident with the pitch I'm going to give, but I don't want to sound rehearsed. Whatever makes you comfortable is the best approach, the main things is not to go into the conversation unprepared.

Yes I’m just a nervous mess sometimes. I guys practicing with help me be more natural.
I've always had the best luck with salary negotiations when I'm already employed. I say something like this: "I'm very busy in a role that I love and I'm not "actively" looking to hop, but your opportunity seems like an opportunity to build something, to make something really great. Presently, I'm at XX, and I'd be looking for a bump to XX." When I've not been employed I just tell recruiters the range I'm interviewing at. I've always done well with that. Straight. Direct. Easy peasy.
I do it by myself, and I’m surprised how much it has helped. Know what you will negotiate on and what you need to hold firm to. Save yourself and them a lot of time.
