I make a million spreadsheets for my personal life (weekly planner and goals tracking) with custom formulas and conditional formatting (including auto conditional formatting for my spend line if the cell value is more than the expected daily value), and it auto highlights cells that are weekends based on today’s date so if I create a new tab for a new month I don’t have to do anything else manually formatting-wise (it’s a beauty and i don’t know who else will appreciate it lol)
Also made an excel tracker and dashboard to track my monthly income / spend, with custom formulas to track remaining $/day , remaining % of budget, etc.

EY1 I would appreciate them too💫

I have a raspberry pi hooked up to a sensor that reads my water meter (it’s in the basement due to cold climate) based on a trained ML model. Set up a pipeline to access the data in the cloud, got a local streamlit dashboard running that I use to see usage. Need to set up pub/sub messaging for it so I get alerts 🤣

And to D5, I may end up writing up my own tutorial for my website. I’ll DM if I get around to it

I explained my SO how Amazon sold his data to Google and Facebook when we watched a movie previous night on Amazon prime from a family members account linked to our Chromecast and SO got a notification next day on Instagram of a suggestion to follow the actor whose movie we had watched the previous night. Not sure if I should be proud to know this or scared of what I am doing to the world using data.

Hi I was interviewed by Capgemini in December 2021 and surprisingly they called in February 2022 for second round.

1. When can i expect call from hr?
2. I was thinking it is not genuine as they did not had clarity for which they were interviewing me. However in both round people who interviewed had email id with domain of Capgemini.

Did it happened with anybody else?

Please guide.
Thanks

Hi,

I have 1.5 years of experience as an SAP BASIS CONSULTANT and I am looking for a switch.

but I want to work in (Full Stack) Java development I have learned spring boot, angular, rest API, AWS CI/CD pipeline and I have good knowledge of core java, collections.

Will it be a good decision to directly get a job as an experienced candidate by telling I have experience in Java(2 years)

or

I shouldn't lie about my prior experience with SAP BASIS.

Thanks in advance for your valuable suggestions

Interview tomorrow for a tax associate opening at RSM. Been working in a mid-size city (different firm) that is about 70 minutes from this new home office in a larger metro. How flexible is WFH or dual model going forward post Covid? Am interested in this position and going to tax, but not be able to relocate for family reasons. Don’t want to drive 700 miles per week M-F. What will dual model be like going forward? 1-2 times week, 4-5 month? Seems like tax was more flexible than audit pre-Covid

Anyone know of an alternative to StackOverflow for asking tech questions? The community is super toxic and I'm looking for a place I can casually ask questions that might seem dumb without being hrangued for not providing an essay proof of the research I've already done. Or some sort of buddy system where I can ping a person of relevant experience those questions. It's better to poke someone's brain for a minute than to spin in circles reading docs/dead end articles sometimes.

Coming to the realization that consulting is not for me (tech person) feeling angry that salaries at D will never be on pair with FANG and that leadership is not tech focused. For example you could be a soul contributor at fang making 240k and people at Deloitte wait 10+ years to earn that as Senior Managers because they need to climb the corporate ladder. It seems super clear cut to me now, if you want to make money in tech don’t join consulting firms. Am I wrong?

Newish to data analytics. Have some experience in power BI, sql, and R. I wanted to get some exposure to aws and saw the AWS cloud practitioner as an available course at my job. Is this cert worth it? Or should I try one of the more advanced ones ? The data analytics one for example but wasn’t sure if it would be difficult to get through as a beginner. Will it look good on my resume?

I need to do a timeline with lots of information over a long period of time. I wanted to that in Tableau, but partner will not pay license and data is sensitive so I cannot use Tableau public.
Do you have suggestions?
The requirements are the following:
- No online input data upload (so local editing)
- The produced output file must be local and easily exportable and readable
-timeline must be interactive (filter/click/zoom in/out/view detals etc.)
- free

Any kind of help is really appreciated
