Interview tomorrow for a tax associate opening at RSM. Been working in a mid-size city (different firm) that is about 70 minutes from this new home office in a larger metro. How flexible is WFH or dual model going forward post Covid? Am interested in this position and going to tax, but not be able to relocate for family reasons. Don’t want to drive 700 miles per week M-F. What will dual model be like going forward? 1-2 times week, 4-5 month? Seems like tax was more flexible than audit pre-Covid

Certainly ok with going on occasion and would expect that but don’t want to mislead the interviewers about my situation and don’t want them to mislead me and than all the sudden when it’s post Covid time expect me to commute 150 miles roundtrip per day or have me relocate.

like

Post COVID restriction era work expectations are still being determined. There are plans, but if expectations aren't met the model will be adjusted.

like

Seems like those expectations are still being determined and would imagine that new model will be in effect soon enough, don’t want it to be changed on me after the fact. Seems like a lot of tax folks I know had a lot more flexible options pre Covid and already worked from home a lot

Hi All - I’m at a firm that has some infrequent in-house training but not enough to help me develop skills to eventually become a trial lawyer. Does anyone have any mock trial programs they’ve participated in outside of their firms that they would recommend?

Can anybody please suggest if I clear their interviews will they consider increasing CTC from whatever I quoted becase upon searching for ACon roles they pay much higher than what I quoted.

I've been exploring exit opportunities for a few months and still holding out for the right opportunity. However, I've had A LOT of recruiters reach out to me for positions that are way below my current salary. They do the whole "your background and expertise is exactly what we're looking for" then turn around and offer a salary range that is 20k below my current level. My resume clearly says I've got 10yrs experience and an MBA. I **don't think* I should be getting offers of 80k-100k

I had an interview with Cognizant and then got an email from HR to fill in CIS form and also along with to send all the documents. After i send all those details i got an email saying the position went on hold and to wait until they revert.
Any idea that how much time it would take for the position to be released? They did not respond when i asked the same question.

Job called to schedule an interview and let me think about it. Decided against it due to daily miles and road construction. I also can not get off for the interview. I’m always covering someone. Sadly, I really wanted that job. Good pay, state benefits. Want to call back so bad and see if they could interview me in 2 weeks. 😢

Let’s talk about wrongful termination. The other day I was fired in the middle of the day without any warning. My colleagues called me because they were confused on why the Talent Manager dismissed me from the chat. I didn’t know what they were referring to. So I called my PM to ask what was happening, and she said that she just got off the phone with the TM and said they were terminating my contract on the spot due to me speaking up about micromanaging. No explanation just kicked out. Advice?
