How do you explain a resume gap before your interview?

Any way you can frame the gap as searching for full time while freelance consulting? It makes you look resourceful and active, even if you “consulted” informally for friends/family?

I am always learning a new skill and doing volunteer work that fits with my line of work. It makes things easier to explain during interviews.

not sure that’s the best time to explain anything.

You wait until the interview and then give them an honest answer that frames the gap appropriately.

Have your own self proprietor business for your freelance work and put it at the start date you want end date can be never or at a point you choose... schedule can vary from full time to part time. Put that on your resume then you never have a gap.

I need a job. My field is the restaurant industry. I have experience working with fries, zinger burgers, grills, and deep fryers. I am skilled in preparing and handling these items. if anyone needs a worker for a restaurant contact me . 902 448 1243 .

with respect

Have you tried applying to restaurants in your area ?

I don't address it. I am an adult with a life and things to take care of. If they ask, I usually tell them I was taking care of family and leave it at that. They can't verify and I don't care to explain whatever the actual situation was. Why do they need to know? Will they tell me why their employees keep leaving? No? Then they don't need to know.

Explain resume gaps by being honest, concise, and proactive, focusing on how you maintained skills or prepared for re-entry. Frame the time away positively as a period of professional development, education, or necessary personal care, and highlight any freelancing, volunteering, or training completed.

Brother, I am asking from Bangladesh, is there any recruitment for mobile servicing shops in the UK, or is there any desire to do any work, can you make any arrangements, it would be very helpful to share ?

Serious question from a happy software engineer, what do you all love about your work/actually enjoy doing during working hours?

I'll start; I'm privileged enough to have been given the opportunity to work and learn deeply on Linux and Kubernetes, and I get to tinker and play with them all day. Problem solving with them is a "fun" part of my job.

Of course most things aren't roses and sunshine, but I'd love to hear the positive parts of what you are doing, or what you like to do at work.

Colleague has put in his resignation. They are offering him whatever he wants to stay including 4days a week work from home. He’s not bluffing and plans to leave. However, at this same time I was asked to begin working as a supervisor for the engineering team and I would get a promotion at the beginning of the year. I have been supervising and managing our team of 6 for months with no extra pay or bonuses. I was told yesterday that raises will be light this year. Yet today they spare nothing.
