But who else will provide false hope for the thousands that need jobs?
My theory is recruiters that do that are either bad at their job or are gate keeping by only looking at people their friends know when there are likely much more deserving and skilled individuals. I guess that makes them bad also, but in a toxic sense.
You think the goal of a recruiter posting a cattle call on LinkedIn is filling the role? Ho ho.
I was being facetious. But snark aside - they’re probably doing it more to look busy/commissioned. Remind those hiring to reach out to them so they can get paid.
With partial benefit that it saves them emailing their contacts to look for availability. And maybe the off-chance someone new gets on their list.
Do you really think this is the recruiters choice to do this? They’re on the front line. They’re NOT making big decisions on recruitment strategy. It’s probably someone with a Chief in their title. And their strategy is based on revenue and growth. With this 💩 market we’re currently in, their approach unfortunately won’t change. I agree it’s so fn frustrating. But get comfy cuz it’s not changing. I suggest reaching out to folks, friends of friends, expand your network — and then hopefully someone can put your name at the top of the list. Sincerest good luck.
Amen.
Not everyone’s emails have a profile picture, they’re trying to hire skilled hot people not skilled ugly ones
