Creative directors at my agency are all around 60 years of age, haven't used any social media ever, yet they shut down our ideas as "juvenile". They are giving us no leeway and aren't budging.

Boss2: “What’s a spanner?”
Boss3: “In ENGland where we speak ENGlish, it’s the item you mistakenly refer to as a wrench.”

Family member is Type 2 diabetic and has been trying keto/low carb diets with little support from their prescribed dietician.

Does anyone have any awesome tips or videos that may help with the transition; mostly considering:
1. They're in their 50s so have to find substitutions especially for habitual snacking that is traditionally carb-centric.
2. Replacement recs for things like potatoes or pasta (even chickpea triggers response)
3. Helpful supplements? Say to expedite return to ketosis

Feeling a little down. Started at big law about 7 months ago. Everything was going so great, basically perfect. I was on a roll. But the last month has been full of hiccups. Nothing super major but like messing up citations, told one shareholder I was leaving early and another stopped by office looking for me and made a deal about it. Had to tell senior associate no to a couple assignments because I am at capacity. I guess I should have known perfect wouldn’t last for ever but 1/2

Offered a job in D NL for Sr. Con. But after having 3rd round (final) of interview I was advised to change my domain then again I have to give interviews. Current profile is in SCADA sec. Adviced profile is DLP. I have very much interest in Scada sec. Never had a hands on experience tho. But studied well. DLP is not my cup of tea. Pls suggest if I should send email again to 3rd round interviewer asking to let me take in for SCADA sec role. Or can change later internally if required.

I want out of the clinical setting of occupational therapy. What else can OTs get into that isn’t in the treatment setting? I am however a certified lymphedema therapist and would definitely consider a position treating only lymphedema patients. I’m having a hard time finding lymphedema positions. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!:)

Any recommendations on fun games or breaks you give your students? Recently I've really been making an effort to keep things more light-hearted while still engaging them. I think everyone appreciates it but I am running out of ideas! I remember in high school I had a stats teacher who read "random facts" to start the class - both funny and interesting!

In my school periods are 42 minutes long. By the time kids arrive to class and get settled, I have 38 on-task minutes, at best. It is impossible to get through the curriculum without leaving most kids in the dust so we pick and choose which standards to emphasize and which are expendable. Problem is compounded by the fact that the teachers in prior grades have the same problem, so kids reach me without foundation knowledge and skills. Have tried many strategies. Suggestions???

What do you do about missing work? I have so many students that miss days or just don’t complete work in class and are given the work to make up, but it never gets turned in. I spent so many days tracking down so many students hounding them for their missing work. Do I keep hounding them or make them be responsible 8th graders and give them zeros until they learn. I only grade 1 per week IF that. There’s usually only 2 handouts a week. The rest of the days are activities or other hands on things

I teach a hybrid of face to face and virtual instruction and we have 1 hour and 10 minutes for whole group instruction. These are fifth graders. How would you use this time to maximize learning? What strategies/methods would you use for engagement and mastery?

I definitely feel like student engagement is low in the virtual realm. Any suggestions would be great.
