Talk to a lawyer? Seems like a breach of contract to me but my legal advice is worth squat.
Same caveat as EY 1 on legal advice- but the letter they sent you would seem a valid agreement on the terms of your resignation once signed by you. They can’t come back and apply different terms - they are probably banking you won’t do anything about it - do you know any lawyers in NJ that won’t charge you $$$ for a simple roadmap on next steps. Keep whatever correspondence you have with them - they might infer they never received your signed letter back.
Yeah I just asked them for their general counsels contact so I can pass it to my slayer and to claim a claim against the firm with the NJ Department of labor. Funny thing is they recalled the orginal letter them recalled the correction letter and now refuse to pay the additional 2 weeks cuz they sent the wrong letter lmao. This place is beyond unethical and toxic
Definitely call some lawyers and get a consultation and see what your options are. Or, there might be a pro bono group that deals with that kind of thing. The state authorities are also a good option. It sounds like what they're pulling can't be legal, but it might come down to whether it's worth the cost to fight them.
