EY GDS staff here in SALT / Partnership Tax (compliance-heavy), CPA in progress. Thinking long-term and trying to avoid pigeonholing.

Has anyone successfully moved from SALT into International Tax, M&A/Transaction Tax, or TP (especially internally at EY)? How realistic is this early career, and is International Tax meaningfully better for global mobility?

Existing employees with 20 years exp working on presales consulting, winning millions of dollars of projects in RFPs, delivering multi million dollar assignments are still not getting promoted and paid in peanuts
