I beg to differ. HR is always pandering and sucking up to c suite.

lol no one is your friend at work. because work is work. it's not playtime with friends. corporations care about profit, only. you are only but a small # that helps them make money and are easily replaceable (note: this applies to HR also except our function doesnt generate revenue, we're a cost). also, HR hates the C-suite too. a lot more than you because we have more of a direct seat to the terrible things they do and say. nowhere near all of it, just more than a non-HR employee. HR doesnt make decisions about who gets a raise or how much, or who gets laid off or ANYTHING. we just have to deliver the news, but we have literally no real authority. staying off HR's radar is a good decision, however what usually gets you put on our radar is your manager. believe me its your manager who is snitching on you to us and wants to fire you because they think you suck ("performance issues") and/or just dont like you ("not a good fit"). we just basically help bide you time before you get canned by forcing your manager to go through the motions and paper trail of "properly" and legally firing you (e.g. a PIP, etc) to protect the company from possible litigation. because thats what HR is for. to anticipate and mitigate risk and help enforce certain labor laws sometimes -- thats it in a nutshell. not to be these therapists or guidance counselors or friends like so many adults strangely seem to think. im just working a job to my pay my bills just like anyone else.
HR will defend lying and the most disgusting practices you’ll see in business, they’ll be the goons for management and then turn around and wonder ‘why are we hated so much 🥺’ lol
