So my team currently uses onenote to house all of our SOPs and reference guides, but it’s becoming a monstrosity and it’s really hard to search and navigate. What programs do you use to provide your team with resources? Or is there some trick to onenote organization that we are missing maybe?

Oh man, that’s not scalable. Confluence wiki makes more sense and is what I’ve seen in some version or another where I’ve been.

It is! I just have not built a site before- was not thinking outside the onenote box on this one!

If you have Salesforce, they have a Knowledge Base feature that works decent. I use Guru now and like it! Also can +1 Confluence that that other user recommended

I like Notion

How would you account for promotional sensitivity of products when you apply weights to a drug portfolio? For example, a drug could be first-in-class and as a result doesn’t have to be promoted as much as another drug which has some competition. We have some weights from sales but how do you include weights for promotional sensitivity on top?

Got a job offer that starts in January. I want to give my managers as much heads up as possible, but I also want to work/get payed through December 31. Is it wise to tell my managers now, but (cont)

I’ve seen a couple of stories where people fast-tracked to director/partner focusing on the right software at the right time (i.e. Anaplan/Salesforce/Workday/etc). What do you think could be a software today which has a similar career boost potential for a junior?

What’s the normal pay increase from SWE 1 to SWE 2. Not a FAANG company, but Fortune 500.

I hate self-promotion. How do i get over this dread of posting “humbling” posts? I have been awarded several recognitions internally and they are asking me to boast them in social media.

Any advice is welcome!!

Starting a new project and it’s something I’m super interested in. The team seems great but it’s really fast paced and I’m starting to feel stressed. I’m 12 weeks and starting to feel better physically but worried about the work stress during pregnancy. Anyone in a similar boat?

How much CTC i can expect from COMCAST as a UI developer(React) with 2.8 YOE? Already holding an offer with 7.8LPA and my current CTC is 4.6LPA.

Can anyone else here relate to the fear of not ever being “enough?” I am in a very well paid management job I love with an awesome manager and a great team, but I constantly find myself yearning to be a part of something bigger, something global, something more profound. And yet, when I update my resume or peruse listings, I end up feeling so small and insignificant. I‘ll never be Bezos or Musk, but when I’m surrounded by people who have so much more, it’s hard to not feel small.

Got a call from a former boss to join their boutique HNWI RIA. This was an industry I was interested in after my first career. Feel like there is limited growth in my current role. Should I leap?

For partners at Big4/ ACN/ other T2 firms:
Does your WLB improve after you make partner but stress levels increase since you are responding for revenue and for people. But in terms of delivery it’s the M/SM/D handling the work and the long hours?
Is that an unfair assessment? Is it a false goal to aspire to to become a partner?

What is the median TC for a L7 role in Business Development at AWS.

For insurance agents out there , I live in Florida ,what’s a better license to start off with? Life and health or p&c? Which do you find more enjoyable to sell and which would be more lucrative? Also , do any of you know of any companies that starts off with base +commission you can possibly refer me to ? Thanks in advance :)

OK folks, I'm kind of pissed. I interviewed with a dream company, made it to 6 interviews (all the way up to VP). Weeks later the recruiting manager shares they went with someone internally, no feedback. Today I see the same position being promoted. Do I pursue the same role or take this as a sign that I wasnt a good fit after all and let it go?

Spoiler alert. Hahaha!

How do you handle a CD that overrides everything to do with web/UX/UI for their own opinions and tastes? A few months ago the same CD admitted to having no new web knowledge since the mid 90's...

My team and I have provided research/data backed design choices but our CD could care less. We present our ideas in a respectful manner but it seems he interprets it as a threat to his authority. It makes for a frustrating work environment and our products aren't nearly as successful as they could be.

Have been feeling so run down and tired. Get decent sleep, have been eating well and trying to cut out sugar, and workouts 4-5 times per week. Anyone had success with various diets or supplements?

My organization absorbed another and the former deputy PM became a branch head - a demotion. For org was more focused on tech dev and not delivering a product on a sked. New org is very focused on that. He is not a driving leader, but is the only one with the tech knowledge needed. He is retirement eligible. He has no heir apparent - previous org didn’t plan that way. If I move him under someone who is a driver - he retires and I lose the knowledge. If I don’t, we may not meet schedules. Advice?

Our annual reviews are approaching & one of my direct reports has been with us for almost six years w/ little growth. My reco was to let him go & find a stronger, hungrier & more motivated designer at the same level. However, my boss instead wants us to promote him in hopes that will spark some motivation. I am not behind this decision & have voiced my multitude of concerns in promoting an employee who doesn't deserve it. HR is behind the decision! Thoughts on promoting an undeserving report?

Hi everyone!

After years of hard work, I just got my first position in a leadership role! Yay! I’ll be leading a team of 12.
I wanted to know if you had any tips for me, things you wish you knew before, or things previous leaders did for/to you that you found admirable or stayed with you. I want to make sure I’m there for them and want to be a leader they will remember positively.

Thank you so much!!

Have you been invited to join The Human Gathering?
Did you do it? Was it worth it?

10 open Leadership Supervisor positions.
Almost 30 applicants.

I said that "People come to me about process issues, and I worked with others to better that process for them and the team."
Interviewer feedback denying me the role was that because I did not say "People trust me and came to me about process issues. Which led me to collaborate with others that I have networked with in the past to find solutions." I did not get the job.

Was this Code-Switching nitpick?

I’m in IT in a large corp and I don’t know what to do. I’m the systems engineer and I planned around what I thought was a straight forward concept. It appears what I thought would be possible was wrong. Everyone celebrated thinking I’d figured it out, including me. Were spinning up a full team to build it and I’ve exhausted all avenues to find an alternative solution. There isn’t. Horrified this is a career limiting situation….

What companies in Tech, IT or Finance pay $200k+ TC for a Director role in Toronto? 12 YOE as an employee at various companies, 5 YOE as an entrepreneur. Appreciate any suggestions.

Any thoughts on how do we deal with an incompetent boss who you dont look up to and have no trust that you would ever get credit for the work you would do for him/her? Given that changing the boss is not an option.

When you speak in such a way, others love to listen to you and listen in such a way that others love talking to you. It shows you value your team by actively listening to their concerns, feedback or suggestions. I sometimes wonder why companies ask their employees for their feedback when time and time again, they never listen to what their employees are saying.

Hi! I'm currently working in a startup focused on teaching about the social concepts
that affect individual success. Our workshop engages and looks to improve social
awareness, problem solving, and collaboration skills with a high potential to develop
outstanding empathetic leaders. During the session you'd face difficult choices that might
break the simulated society or help it thrive. We are looking for people interested in

Any advice for a first time manager ?
Context: after ~10y in technical then marketing role, taking over a team of analysts, first management position.
Tips, readings, stories, … are welcome 😁

My remit quadrupled+ in a recent re-org with no increase in pay/promotion, my new director is new to the company and was zero help, and I was passed over for recent promotion during the comp cycle. The new director essentially began shutting me down any time I ask for clarity in my career progression. Now they have taken credit for the project I’ve been building over the past year+ without giving me props whatsoever to higher ups. What is the best plan of action here?

"Everybody can be a leader" some say... "Leaders are nurtured not born" say others... True.

But... this is also true: "not everybody wants to be a leader" (whether they can or can't be). It is a fairly common practice in organizations with traditional career management structures for people to "be promoted" into leadership roles as the "end steps of the corporate ladder" that was climbed doing technical work. And, unfortunately, this doesn't work all the time

What is your job title? As it right now I’m managing a team of product owners and I’m unofficially being called “Chief Product Owner.” I’m in the process of working with a coach to get my resume updated so I can begin applying for external roles. But I don’t even know what job titles to target.

I have been in management for the past 8 years and part of large corporations. I just recently joined a small organization that I have wanted to be a part of for the past 2 years, accepted the role of general manager. This organization knew that I don’t have general manager experience, no payroll experience, no experience setting prices, no purchasing experience and today, 6 days after starting, I have been asked to step down due to not being confident that I will be ready in 3 weeks…
