You know I've seen this post time and again and never responded (and was frankly, stunned that no one else did! Here's my answer...senior partner bills at $1100 an hour in a BL firm, is a millionaire several times over...always $500. (based on the amount of grief and stress he should add another 0 to that. Counsel gives me $100 (I drop your jcrew boxes and your constant shoes in the mail for you...seriously...you make $400K a year...) my other counsel who is part time..$50... sometimes. I've always tried not to resent what others make...if you wanted to, you could have gone to law school but you didn't. Still. If you ask for nothing extra all year AND you aren't a yeller or super needy then I'm not doing much for you. But I work hard for these people. I remember the 90's fondly. Wined, dined and compensated accordingly. Oy.

Thanks for responding!
Holiday gifts are the time for assistants and secretaries to shine in the gratitude from their assigned attorneys. Sadly, people are not as generous as in the past. I'm assigned to 3 partners - one is very generous ($1,000), one is appreciative ($500) and the third ... a deadbeat. For two years, I have given this partner the same dedication as the other two and still have not gotten anything at year end. How do you not get "something" when you provide work to their practice? As a further insult, my firm gives a "gift" (a few hundred dollars) not a bonus.
3 partners $750 each, another partner $200, and associate perfume set.
Partner 1: $200 gift card, partner 2: $500 cash, associate 1: $400 cash, associate 2: 0, associate 3: 0, paralegal: $100.
I’ve never received anything nor has any of my colleagues
