So I just got an outside offer that's paying 18% more than what I make now. Part of me wants to use it to negotiate with my current company but I've never done that before and honestly I'm scared of how it could go. Has anyone actually leveraged an outside offer at a corporate retail role and had it work in their favour?

Wipro Hi fishers, need a suggestion urgently. My wife Joined Wipro on 12th of Jan 2022 but till now didn't got any project. Stream is SAP Functional. Good Day! I have got offer from HCL Technologies
My YOE is 3 years(Tech stack- Oracle DBA) and CTC I got is 10 LPA gross.
Will it be worth joining hcl at this PKG considering I am switching from TCS. Or should I take retention offer of 8.5 LPA.
Please give your advice.
