I asked it some patent prosecution questions and it was wrong so no, I don’t see it replacing us yet.
I agree- it will evolve. It’s super impressive now but it’s hard for it to make strategic recommendations. I’ll be impressed when I tell it a fact pattern and ask it to make a strategy recommendation that matches what I would do.
It might make paralegals obsolete, but not attorneys. AI can’t negotiate or try a case
Even when it technically can, human clients won’t want to fully trust an AI with their case or deal, and will want some humans ultimately responsible. You also need humans for the relationship and customer service. For trial lawyers, you also need to think about juries trusting AI. There are many challenges to full AI replacement that have nothing to do with the technical limitations.
It’s pretty cool ngl but I don’t think human counsel is replaceable

Nah. Bar association will protect us and keep us employed.
Ask it bar review questions. It often gets them right but will make up explanations that are wrong
Last I heard ChatGPT doesn’t have a law firm partner dad so the traditional way to gainful employment is still safe
