So...just how bad is the Seattle Freeze/dating here? The city itself seems pretty awesome and has a lot of things I want, but I'm in my mid-30s and don't know anybody there, so I'd be starting from scratch. If I'm into activities, like skiing, hiking, and racquet sports (both tennis and pickleball), is it really that hard to make a solid friend group and find a romantic partner in Seattle?

Been in Seattle for ~1 year and something I’ve observed is the constant s*it-talking of the city from the locals. Is this because they haven’t experienced other places? While the current homelessness in the city needs to be handled, crime is still relatively low compared to other major cities. The complaints about gloominess also seems a bit dramatic. I’m from the NE and am so grateful to not be dealing with snowy winters and sweltering summers.
