I'm in Silicon Valley, and been in the industry for about 15 years now. Fell into the corporate in-house role and been in those ever since. I primarily do marketing/brand design. I'd love to get to AD level, but I think my main issues has been that I rock the boat a lot and don't play the "corporate game well", piss off the wrong people. Does anyone have any advise for how to advance in corporate environement while keeping the integrity of creative alive?

Is AVP title in Wells Fargo equivalent to Senior Software Engineer ?

Went through multi-day loop for L5 SA and felt confident in my interactions. Presentation went well with no lack of answers for follow up questions. Just found out 6 days later I will not be receiving an offer, and it is policy to not provide feedback of gaps or reasons behind no offer. Also found out they ask you not to reapply for 1 to 2 years for same role. Would anyone recommend an alternate path for feedback on interview (outside of recruiter) and is the 1-2 year policy true?

I have worked with Forbes top companies, for-profits, non-profits, & startups. I consider myself a solver of complex & complicated problems requiring mixed method research & novel solutions. This has led to issues in self-referencing title. I’ve been project manager, data engineer, developer, modeler, analysts, principle DB developer, etc. Most of my w2 work has been from offers of 1099 clients so I am usually asked to define my own title. Any T-shaped data people who run into this?

Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations

Hi everybody.
Right now I’m working as a junior product engineer in Amsterdam. From januari on I’ll be a medior product engineer. And now I’m in the middle of negotiating about my salary increase. The salary that I’m being offered feels low (41.5k).
Is there an other product engineer that could tell me if my gut feeling is right or not? Thanks in advance!

I’m interviewing for a marketing manager role at a company based in SF. I’m genuinely excited about the role and the company but we’ve yet to discuss salary. I expect to be asked at some point, but my research has given me a VERY broad range. So I’m here to do a bit more research. I’ve got 5 very relevant years of experience and will have an associate manager directly reporting to me. Are there any marketers out there who can share their salaries in similar regions and experience levels?

When I negotiated my comp, all my discussions were around me being a junior and I only accepted my comp for that reason (would not have accepted if I was step above junior since it was low). Negotiations happened with HR, but my offer letter and documents never mention junior (but I have proof from HR saying I am a junior). How do I approach this with my boss as I’m not sure she’s aware I’m actually technically a junior? Revolving around asking for a move up + raise

I’ve been approached my by company that one of our large clients (who im currently project managing for) is looking for a consultant of sorts, and if they hire us, I’d be the first person asked to take on this consultant role. Is it normal for people to ask for a raise when more responsibility/task fall under them? Clawback clause in current contract: been in role for over 2 yrs, it was an internal move that required relocation. Relocation was approved shortly after (over 2 yrs ago) but covid meant the actual move and start of my contract with new subsidiary was delayed, I was paid by the previous subsidiary meanwhile. I got small relocation package. Would internal move be subject to a buy-out/clawback clause if I leave now and if yes, is it time in role or time under new contract? Any experience? Thanks!
