Seniors are expensive. Juniors are cheap. Performative, lousy, but can’t say I’m surprised.
This is what the industry is begging for. Hire juniors and train them. Let go over your Cannes-attending do-nothings. Kudos to Martin.
Um. That’s how FB spells it in the drop down tab. Ya really think I had the capability to misspell my own title?

Yeah how dare they not only have an intern program but actually invest in juniors. Terrible optics. Let’s get rid of more coasting middle managers, actually
Let’s get rid of the ridiculous salaries of c-suite before we get rid of anybody. Eversana just had layoffs. Now they’re hiring a brand new COO—never had that role before.
They cut expensive people and hired cheap kids to grab them coffee and do the printing.

I disagree with your take on hiring juniors. The real problem is that they need to be mentored and trained by senior people to realize their potential and make meaningful contributions to an agency. That only happens when you’re winning business.
Agree with you on the optics though. For an agency that is losing accounts, press like this is doing nothing to change that narrative.
I’m not saying we don’t hire juniors. It’s just the optics of hiring so many after laying off a bunch of people good people who did the work. We’ve all seen the salaries slipping backwards, great people looking for work, etc. Martin is in its own little bubble with how we’re showing up in the world vs the reality of who we are right now.
You all seem to miss a point… ad agency should pay for talent no matter what level…. Creativity pays. Bad creativity bye bye…. R
