Common wisdom is to always take a call with a recruiter if they reach out, but what if you’re less than three months into a new position and not actively looking? Even if a top agency tapped you (Drog…
What’s the work culture like at The Martin Agency, specifically in the planning department? Feeling burnt out at a small agency on an even smaller strategy team, and considering a change.
Best mid/small city agencies: i.e. W+K Portland, Humanaut Chattanooga, The Martin Agency Richmond, etc. (U.S only)
Longstanding AOR Relationships Can anyone point me to an existing, famously successful AOR relationship example? I was going to use Arnold + Jack Daniels but it looks like they lost JD last year. I i…

Anyone in this bowl work at The Martin Agency / know how it is to work there? Reviews online look great but wanted to see if anyone here had firsthand experience working there. Thanks!
BCGers need some insight. BCG emailed me today offering a contractor position with equal pay to consultant for 6-12 mos then opportunity beyond if things work out. I interviewed this summer
EY recruiter reached out for a role in a practice that I’m not particularly interested in. I’ve been going through the steps while suggesting other roles, but they dismiss them. Any advice on how to handle this? Is it a lost cause? I was hoping they’d be able to connect me to one of those other roles. Assuming incentives don’t line up for the recruiter.
Anyone had experience leaving for an industry accounting role such as a senior inventor accountant or senior ppe accountant? Are you most likely stuck in that area for future promotions or new jobs?
Does Adobe Connect give you the option to have a background image when you have your camera on—like Teams and Zoom?
Finishing my second year at a big bank and I’m over it. Idk how I’m going to do this for 20+ years. Don’t get me wrong I’ll put in the hours - I want the vacation houses, nice cars, traveling experiences - but how much I hate myself during the week makes me question if it is even worth it.
Phone screen on Friday. Told them I had final rounds coming up and gave them free days of Monday - Thursday for interviews. Haven’t heard back yet. Should I reach out tomorrow if I don’t hear anythinn
What is your current ratio of challenging/interesting work to busy work during WFH? I feel like my day is mostly transactional now and I’ve plateaued professionally. How are you counteracting this?
Is the per diem at Accenture higher for managers? I don’t want to have to try to eat off of $25/day…
Is it ok to ask the recruiter in initial phone screening for salary range? Does it make it seem like you’re less enthusiastic about the position? Also, if they revert with “what range are you looking for” and you respond with a range 20% higher, will they not move you onto the next round?
How long, on average, did it take you to study before you could pass the PHR/SPHR exam? Did you think it was worth it?
Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run
After joining MBB from an mba program, how man yrs does it take the average person to hit 400kall in? 500k all in? Thanks
First full day back in the office. I guess I’m not too upset but I did like work from home…
When life returns to normal, would people prefer to WFH anywhere or return to their offices in NYC?
TFW... 8 nights away from 100 night plat, now on a project for rest of year in client city with no SPG.... Hawaii vacation in October and was hoping for the concierge to make it special! Damn...
For those of you who have talked with Altman Solon in their recruiting push - what are the salary ranges being offered for a consultant with 2-4 YOE?
Serious question: has W+K ever had layoffs in the last decade or so? I don’t think I’ve ever heard about it if so.
Fishes over in LA pond. I'm heading out to the west coast and looking for places to apply to. Has any LA shops recently won a new client pitch?
I’m constantly in reviews without my copywriting partner. Yesterday I was honest with her about my frustrations in her. She has a lot of work on her plate but I’m constantly picking up slack to make sure things work easily for her. But I’m sick of being the one in reviews while juggling my own work. This morning my CD and her made subtle remarks about the subject in front of the whole team (side note they do this when they want to talk shit about what other people say).
How to signal to a client that you’re interested in going to work for them in-house? I’ve been working with a particular client on and off for the last 2 years. It’s an interesting business and the GC is an absolute pleasure to work for, even in stressful situations. I’d like to let him know that I’d be interested in joining his team, if any positions become available. Any tips?
Put in my notice today. Can anyone share some truly great companies to work for? (non-big 4) For background: leaving core audit at Senior Associate level. Looking for a job in either Boston or DC; would love to move away from audit and more into personal financial planning, would consider personal tax/HNW clients too.
In B4, can you have a separate part time job (non accounting related) on top of your full time job?
How much can you ethically alter your title on your resume? My firm is struggling and moving many consultants to “customer success.” I’m worried I won’t get interviews after the title change. 1YOE
Just had an interview and was never asked “tell me about your proudest professional achievement/greatest success” even though every interview report said that was a question asked. Worried that this might put me at a disadvantage. Am I overthinking this?
For those that joined MBB/T2s during the pandemic, are any of you all enjoying this job? Does anyone feel like their firm has done enough to support and teach them?
12 yr lawyer here, just moved to CA due to a spouse transfer and am not sure if I want to start over here. I have a good network in my home state. Any remote contract lawyers? How do you find work?
How long can you be on bench? Will you get escalated and lay you off if it is above some period of time?
Are there any agencies in Miami looking for an art director intern? I would really love to get my first junior position in advertising.
Turning down a highly lucrative Amazon offer for an offer with a small sign on bonus and a 20% pay bump but it will offer WLB and I can work remotely forever and it’s work I’m more interested in. First time I am not making prestige the number one priority. Feels scary. Idk why I have so much anxiety around turning down the offer.
Considering an MD position at Accenture and need to give comp expectation, its on Strategy side. Of course its based on my own need and desire, but like to hear from (ex)MDs at Accenture if 400k sounds like a reasonable ask for base. And can anyone help me understand the difference between L4 and L3? For reference, I am a Senior Principal with almost 2 years executive industry experience post consulting. Thanks for any insights!
Clueless first time mom to be. Do I need to pump if I’m taking significant time off (12mos)?
For anyone who’s started at a company fully remote (Covid or otherwise)… when ramping into your new role, what did you do to feel more connected to your team/sales dept? I’m finding that I have questions that I don’t know how or whom to ask, I don’t know who anyone is and my manager can be MIA. This is my first fully remote role and it’s thrown me for a bit of a loop
Should I be concerned if they reposted the job posting on LinkedIn and also updated the posting date on workday? I’ve had a few interviews already. Was last told they have to review other candidates and it could be a long process. Should I take that statement at face value?
For lawyers, If I post a political message and get fired, can I still get unemployment. Nothing disparaging against my firm.
