I mean, honestly with the state of the economy it's not a bad gig. With a gvt job you get good quality healthcare, steady pay raises, guaranteed emloyment, and generous benefits packages. Now of course it's not the most glamorous career, but lots of new grads are looking to protect themselves from the volatile economy and a stable, cushy government career doesn't sound so bad all things considered.
the benefits aren't that great, the pay is lacking compared to industry, and idk about other agencies but USDA internal systems is so messy, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone
LOL. While I totally feel where you're coming from, I gotta say.I always really appreciate the stability of government when the economy is in the tank like it is right now. I think young people see the gov't as a stable spot to have a good middle-class income. Not entirely untrue..
