Some years ago our employer changed the name of our role from 'phlebotomist' because in our role we did FAR MORE than just phlebotomy.

I'm looking for an MA, so, a few questions I'm hoping I can get some help answering.

1. I feel qualified to test for certification simply based on my experience (I don't wanna go back to school). Is this a realistic expectation?

2. If you made a similar transition, did you feel able to hit the ground running in your MA role?

I applied for a role a few days ago and found the relevant hiring manager today via LinkedIn. Should I send a follow up mail/introduce myself to this person. Would it leave a good impression or come across as desperate?

Btw, the person is in a “Talent Acquisition” position at the company.

I’m a CMA who works in Behavioral Health. I have been asked to float to different offices to assist other providers because we are short staffed. I don’t mind because I thought this would be temporary. The problem now is the positions available have no applicants as of yesterday. Not one applicant! The positions have been posted for 2 months or more. I feel since I’m doing the job of 3 CMAs I should get a raise. Any ideas on how to present my case for a wage increase to management?
