Sometimes I just want to put my foot down and tell leadership that I need them to trust my gut instinct and not theirs. We lost a lot of potentially amazing candidates because other companies took less time to decide they needed these people to be on their teams. Good talent goes fast and when there's a 5-round interview process, you don't get to retain all of their interests. How would you convince management to change this?

Literally tell them "Top talent is off the market fast, our lengthy, multi-round process is costing us great candidates. If we want to compete, we need to streamline decision-making and trust the expertise of those closest to the hiring process. Let’s cut unnecessary rounds and move faster, or we’ll keep losing out to companies who act decisively.”

At what point does the value of a degree fall off? I'm in my early 30s, and have five years of experience, and work on a very theoretically interesting project. Looking for advice! I was approved to work remotely but my salary will decrease 10%. I received two raises so the decrease brings me down to my previous salary. I was told that it’s due to the cost of labor in the area.
