Is HARMAN really recruiting for permanent remote roles? Would they ask us to come to office after sometime? I am a bachelor woman supporting my sickly parents and can't move them out of city. And my city don't have harman office. HR did mention permanent remote, still want to confirm as I've heard many cases people were called back across different product based companies. I am in no manner a high performer, but I have felt this many times. The feeling that I don't belong, these ppl are far superior. They have made mistake by hiring me. Started my career in prod support, had a career break for more than one year, started afresh, learnt new technology, now working as a React dev, its been a rollercoaster.
When I joined my current org, I felt every other person is immensely smart and I can't catch up. What if they find out that I am not competent enough. What if they humiliate me for not knowing basic things.
What has helped me till date is focusing on one thing at a time. Finishing that one story. Fixing that one bug. 10-15 stories down, 20-30 bugs down.. I started feeling good. And everyday I dared myself to ask questions, no matter how stupid. Related to the story, bug, tech, coding standards, how the app is designed.. anything and everything. People may laugh, or not. Doesn't matter. Crush your ego and ask. There are many many things that you do not know and the other person does. And gradually people appreciate you for being you. Be humble and put a learning hat on. Things become simple.
You just have to constantly remind yourself that whatever you are going through right now is just another phase of your life. We also deserve to take a rest and unwind. Don't push yourself too much :)
I know that feelings of self-doubt might creep in from time to time which will make you want to work harder, but always remember that you are currently in the place you are at because of your own efforts. Dont beat yourself up!
Yeh kya hota hai ! Acidity suna hai!
Boss, if you have achieved anything in your life with a fluke you will always call it some fancy syndrome or something. I have never seen a high performing individual or be it a high accomplished one who doubts on their achievements. I'll still buy your helplessness and would suggest you not to stress too much on the things which aren't in your control. And just read the first sentence of this comment for motivation :) you have it in you, you just need to look from a achiever's lens. Cheers !!!
