No, you usually don't get severance for being fired for performance reasons. You get severance for being laid off when it ain't your fault.

Can only speak for PwC US. Severance is guaranteed based on service time only in Manager and up contracts, but typically still provided at Associate and Senior Associate levels at a rate of approximately 2 weeks per year of service. This appears to still have been the case for those let go after the spring CRTs (performance reviews).
