Do you add the people you interview with on LinkedIn? During some interviews I’ve had people say “add me on LinkedIn or feel free to connect” I’m waiting on next steps from HR/internal recruiters a couple places so not sure if adding will be weird.

Friend of mine was supposed to receive an offer (told verbally) from Deloitte and then just found out they are pausing on hiring the role. How common is that? Seems wildly unprofessional that none of the partners called and instead it was the recruiter conveying that news. At McKinsey, if that happened, the head of the practice or the office would personally make the phone call at the very least.

Recent lateral junior associate in brand new practice where I'm the only associate. I'm probably going to bill 1,500 hours max this year due to being very slow and taking time off for a delayed honeymoon which I disclosed during my interview process. I have been told my work product is good, I don't turn anything down, I participate in non-billable work, I'm responsive and I always let people know I'm available to help. Being from Minnesota, I think it's so funny when people act as if we are some far-left State just because we hadn't voted Republican in a presidential election since Nixon. Never mind that many of our elections are close or that we have elected Republican Senators and governors.

I have voted for both the GOP and the DFL, and I feel like they are both far more normal than their national counterparts
