Struggling to decide: Should I take an in-house role with a big pay cut but amazing benefits, work-life balance, and broader experience (compliance, contracts, etc.) that could make me more marketable? I hate my current firm and see no growth, but the cut hurts. Do I take the leap or wait for better?

I am the junior attorney at a small PI firm (5 lawyers). I love my job and my firm, the partners, and my colleagues.

I have another opportunity that is important to me, so I'm planning to step away.

I have maybe 10-15 lit cases that I'm "responsible" for. Some of them are tar babies that I know the partners and my colleagues would hate taking over, but I don't think I'm willing to wait for resolution on them either. Thoughts?

I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. I'm looking to make a career switch so I can both create and execute on my strategies. A product management path seems very promising for this.

I’ve recently started work at a very young tech startup. Coming from a big law background, this was a huge change of pace/environment. I’m having a lot of trouble getting used to how unstructured the startup is. It feels like hire ups give a set of instructions then talk as if they don’t remember, or then decided rules A, B, C and D applies without being clear this was the case. I’ve been here in the states for over 10 years and looking back I am amazed by how I survived corporate America and how tolerant my colleagues have been towards me. Nevertheless, it’s hard to escape from imposter syndrome. I also caught myself rationalizing my slightly lower-than-market comp with my language skills. Any thought or advice?
