What salary can I expect as a Manager 1 in Accounting Advisory in NYC at a mid-tier firm (GT, BDO, RSM)?

Need some guidance from Zs associates fishes, one of my friend has got offer there at C level with good gross with 15% variable but no ELRP, but another one of my friend has a AC offer with slightly less base but ELRP, how does this work p? What additional benefit do C get to counter ELRP?

Why do firms fire people with low but still profitable hours? I am in my first full year on track for pretty low hours (~1500) but the actual realized fees (after writedowns) are still double my yearly salary. Is it because firms know they could replace someone like me with an equivalent attorney who would bill more?

Was recently offered a job in Hawaii that would be a much larger role than I currently have (deputy chief architect). Have you had to change your start date after accepting an offer and how did it go? I told them I need to give 30 day notice and so I set my start date (incorrectly) assuming the background check and drug screen would take a few days to clear. However, the drug screen is now taking over a week and a half (still not finished, maybe tomorrow). Apparently things are much slower due to staffing issues and labs are backed up. It’s cutting into my 30 day notice significantly. Thoughts?
