TBH the market is a bit tough right now but it's not impossible. Your background is valuable and shows your leadership and customer service skills. You'll have to tailor your resume well so it gets through ATS. Also don't discount networking! It's one of the best and easiest ways to get in.
That's really the operative question. From what people are saying, it seems that companies have really slowed down their hiring. Some of it might just be the summer slow season, but I suspect the uncertainty over the trade war is making people hesitant to add people. I suppose all we can do is keep refining our resumes and stay persistent, eventually things will have to pivot back to a more normal environment.
The job market is rough right now. I have several friends that have been looking for over a year and still can't seem to find anything. I would suggest networking and even asking friends and family members for referrals. Sometimes that can help you get your foot in the door somewhere.
