Big law tax associates/partners: I am a 3rd year tax associate doing structuring/deals and while I still have the M&A deal flow, my job seems less crazy/demanding than a 3rd year corporate associate. I’m an analyst at a small(ish) REPE firm. We’re looking to unroll a pretty comprehensive Multifamily strategy and I’m tasked with hammering it out internally. I have to present a case study that shows my approach thru 'branding lens' - they gave me a slide deck with such minimal info and I have to present in a few days. Question on changing roles: a friend of mine did not pass the final round at BCG for an associate position, due to not having as much relevant experience as the other candidates. However, they are interested in him and will likely offer him a research position. Does anybody know whether it is likely that you can switch from a research role to a consulting role?
