Ok, shameless plug, but hopefully everyone will find it in good faith.
Over the last two months I’ve been spending my nights recording a course to help folks prepare for competency interviews at Amazon.
Say hello to a monster course (9+ hours) that leaves no stone unturned. I cover Amazon’s peculiarities, all Leadership Principles (including situations that meet and miss the bar), STAR method and more.
It is all here: https://dayone.careers
Hope folks who seek the knowledge will find it. Any q’s - do reach out.

Our company uses a slack plugin called donut that randomly pairs you with teammates for non-work discussions. I found it helpful with feelings of loneliness to get to know my colleagues better and have a break in the day
Do you have a Teams or Slack channel? I find that it helps to build community when everyone is virtual.
I've also intentionally tried to have some ad-hoc syncs with teammates to help build more of a connection.
Slack is definitely a great way to connect and suggest a virtual HH for your team. Hope that helps… it works for us. ☺️
I think this is something that everyone is struggling with after WFH has become so widespread. It seemed a bit silly to me at first, but my wife pushed me to check out Meetup, and I ended up going to a local happy hour trivia event I didn't know about. Had some interesting conversations and now I go back about once per month.
You aren't the only one! I felt that way at first too and was definitely anxious when I went to that first event. Try it out and you might find just what you need :)
It's killed me to not network and hang with my team in person more. I'm a bit extroverted, and those impromptu interactions gave me a lot of joy. Engaging digitally is too deliberate, especially when you know everyone is busy and you feel like you're bothering them.
Previous posters here had great suggestions. We use Slack and the huddle feature or Google meets. That Donut app is great for getting some team engagement and can be fun.
We've started some rituals too, like posting music videos/talking about music every Friday. Some one off Theme Days, posting pics from high school or some doodle or meme contests. I've tried to reach out proactively to new hires that started during this mess as well; can't imagine how lonely that could be!
Volunteering online has helped my own resilience a bit as well. I get to focus on others and forget about my self for a bit. Keep your head up!
It's hard not seeing everybody. I miss the inside jokes and just being able to connect. I can see how human interaction is so necessary for mental health.
