Talking to someone I know somewhat who is an in-house recruiter (but who is not the recruiter for the legal counsel) and asked if we could discuss more information about the job (environment and the like) and she asked for my resume. I sent her my resume and she said she forwarded it to the recruiter for that position and put in a good word. Did I do this wrong? I kind of just wanted to know more about it than what the listing said rather than apply for it?

They probably don't know too much so they just cut to the chase. You could always ask a few questions.

What’s the worst that can happen

Are you saying the recruiter submitted your resume but you’re afraid that the job is only open to certain recruiters and she is not one of them?

But I think we are all missing the point that this person shouldn’t have sent the resume without their approval. That’s recruiter 101.

Question for funds folks, since no one is around to answer any questions and I can't seem to find this answer anywhere. Why can't a placement agent combine or integrate the offering of interests in the sponsor's fund with the contemporaneous offering of interests in another fund? Is it based on reputational risk or from a sales perspective in case someone rejects both funds, any other issues? Thanks!

Hi Fishes

Joined My new company this Jan. My previous income was not eligible for tax slabs. Now while adding the income from Apr 21-Mar 2022 it's become 5.9 LPA. I don't have any investments and in my new company I declared the same. The only tax exemption I have is PF contribution and professional tax. I have only 25K PF contribution and 2.5K professional tax. So while calculating the tax I am getting 15K as tax payable. How can I avoid this 15k. Kindly pour your suggestions. TIA.

Negotiating a settlement. I’m at $10k, opposing counsel is at $20k. My client won’t go higher than $15k. OC has come down to 17.5k and says his client won’t budge from that. Do I offer 12.5k so we can hopefully meet in the middle at 15k? Is that how the settlement game is played? Seems dumb we can’t just say let’s meet in the middle now and be done with this. (I’m a first year, first time negotiating a settlement on my own and I don’t want to screw this up!)
