Hi Guys,
I have been assigned to a Unbillable Project, they are building one app and have recruited people from the talent pool. The project is not registered in GLOW. And they are calling it as Voluntary Contribution type project for studio. Is this what they call Internal Project in Globant?
Will there be any impact if I don't perform as per their expectations?
Will it be of any benefit to me if work in voluntary project? Will HR recognize this project contribution as valid work?

I find PhDs in general lack the EQ, tenacity, drive, and craft skills needed for consulting.... just my observation after having been in the business for 20 years
Also if you append MBA to your name on LinkedIn and to your signature I lose respect for you.

Got a PhD in business after having worked in business. Totally agree that the traditional 26 or 27 year old with a PhD is a smart idiot. They know a lot of research methods without any context. It's also half-heartedly acknowledged as a problem in the business education journals.
D2, it’s a thing a few of us devoted all of our 20s to and some of our 30s. Evidently not all of our colleagues think this was the best use of our time. I think they should share that opinion with us whenever they get the chance, it is likely brand new information that we have never considered.
But Deloitte? 😂

Agreed. I love some of my colleagues who have phds but they are always too damn academic and not practical enough about quick, agile solutions for real business problems. I used to be an industry and found the same thing there. I knew hiring leaders who refuse to hire phds because as open-minded as we tried to be it just always seem to be the case time and again

M3 seems a little jaded that he didn't get accepted past the first interview at slalom? LOL. My point is much like the other poster above. Spent over 2 decades in fortune 100s in industry engineering firms, leaving as an SVP, before coming over to consulting . Too many consultants and new hires came in with phds thinking they had all the answers but had no idea about the true nature of business. Add to that the ego and lack of humility for learning and you had a recipe for a disaster. PhD is fantastic if you can also be practical, actionable, and business savvy.
