There's a senior role in my team open at the moment. I've debated going for it because it's rare that they come up, but I've made the decision to spend the next year focussing on developing my personal life rather than keep pushing at work. Yes the extra money would be nice but I don't think I need the extra stress. Has anyone ever made a similar decision? I don't want to regret it in a few years.

Currently sitting on an offer for a intro/mid-level design engineer in the Raleigh-Durham Area and wanted to get an idea of the average paybands, online sites have such a large range (50k-400k) that it is hard to narrow in on a price to start negotiating
