Who came up with this policy? That makes absolutely no sense. If you're going to have to go through the hassle of doing virtual learning, those days should 100% count.
Did you get paid for those extra 6 days of work?
I am wondering that as well. In the state of Indiana, most schools are allowed to count 3 elearning days. After that, we have to make up those days in person. We have a contracted number of days.

Wow, that's weird.
The whole point of E-learning days is to have them instead of snow days.
No way our Union would let that happen in our district. If it doesn't count as a work day, I'm not sure they could even hold it against you legally if you refused to participate.

Even in states with poor union presence, I would think the school code and/or labor law would keep districts from mandating work on a day that didn't count as a work day. It would almost have to be voluntary.
They don’t count them, I don’t do them. Ask kids to read.
Our district counts it, but this year we have to use the assignment as attendance. I thought that came from MO DESE because too many students weren't doing the work so they are making them more accountable.
That happened to us as well last year! I thought the whole point of doing the e-learning was so that we didn’t have to go into our summer break. But oh no they didn’t count it. I don’t know what they’re going to do this year.
We are allowed a week of e-days that count as normal days.
If I have enough snow where we have a snow day I am absolutely unable to “teach remotely”!! I have driveways and walkways to shovel! I will never be teaching online when I get 3 feet of snow dumped on me and I will never expect students to do work on snow days. Go make a snow fort, snowman, run around, have a snowball fight, help your parents shovel! This would be a faculty meeting where I smile and nod then do my own thing.
