Chief
The other consultants will call you a Boozer 😔
Pro
Are you being hired for a specific role on a fully funded project? If not, you should be careful about accepting an offer from Booz. They’re not giving anyone much bench time these days and you could find yourself looking for another job in a few months.
Or even weeks…
Pro
Treat BAH as your last resort. Booz is a staffing agency masquerading as a consulting firm. Morale is in the toilet, management is largely incompetent, and the culture tolerates laziness and mediocrity. Other than that, it's awesome.
Sounds like 95% of consulting firms tbh
an offer is an offer, but BAH mostly does government work, which is currently volatile
Do you currently have any clearances, or does the role sponsor a clearance? Given the current climate, many of us that “only” held a Public Clearance got laid off. But it’s project & contract specific.
If you have other offers elsewhere I would do that instead. Also yes to the above - are you hired onto a determined contract or are you a “capability hire.” If you don’t have a clearance I wouldn’t come, I’m hearing it’s difficult to find pipelines to clear people since the gov is changing so much
I personally like it. Most of the people I've worked with are competent, and friendly. Worklife balance has traditionally been very good. But the company is huge and you are mileage may vary depending on the sector and contract.
Company-wide morale is a lot lower is due to some tone deaf handling of all these cuts by our leadership. There is a lot of volatility although I'm hoping with the huge amount of layoffs earlier this year things will calm down a bit.

Seems like, in the current environment, you should take it. Pros and cons seem more related to the specific office and/or practice group.
Brave soul given DOGE’s impact on BAH
