The job market is always cyclical. I’ve been in way worse job markets before. It will eventually get better.
That may be so, but it’s different for the younger generations in their 20s-30s (and even 40s). Older generations have already been through similar situations (especially baby bloomers) and should/already know how to prepare. The younger generations just got here and are trying to figure it out. And a lot of us without much help.
This happens all the time. As VP1 says, it's cyclical. In a year or two things will swing the other way and you'll be choosing among jobs. Right now, companies are testing to see how many employees they need to handle the workload. This happens with every major technology shakeup (computerization, Internet, AI)
Another thing happening is companies posting fake jobs, which exacerbates the problem. You might be applying to 50 jobs, but only 20 of them are actually hiring someone.
You vote for Kamala, and the job market will remain terrible. She and Biden give out free money to everyone and the companies are taxed. As a result, they cut back on staffing which is the greatest cost that companies have. their prices go up also, so less customers. I am not a Trump fan, but better than Kamala, handing out money like it’s free and supporting 15 million illegal migrants. Vote using logic, not emotion
It wasn't ever easy for me, it just went from bad to worse.
I truly feel this. Frightening.
I feel that, I've applied to so many jobs and get turned down or don't have the experience or degree, like seriously why post your hiring then not hire me when I would be the best employee cause I actually do the work and get things done, I need a full-time job with benefits and it's so hard to get one.
I think we're all just coming off the high that was COVID hiring. You could get your pick of the litter. It'll be tough for a bit and then good again and then tough and good etc... until we all retire.
And QS1, I urge you to look to understand how the economy actually works...
The job market since COVID has been very abnormal. It is now returning to a more normal status.
There have been many changes in the job market since I started looking for work a year and a half ago it’s scary
Me too. It’s awful! 😩
I feel this. After being a SAHM for a few years, going back to work has been impossible. I even made sure to obtain a double masters degree and keep up with continued education. But I can’t even get a call back. Very scary.
I totally agree! How did it get this way? It’s no longer giving the job seeker an upper edge. You’re spot on!
Unemployment is 4.2% and we’ve created jobs for like 30 straight months lol. Bro what’s u talking about. Tell me you were in elementary school in 2008 without telling me lol…scary lmao
Millions of new doordash drivers are barely decent “jobs”
I agree 100%
