Consulting and Advisory will eventually combine. This is one of many necessary steps in that direction. I think the big near term benefit is to lengthen the path to PPMD while incentivizing people with regular promotions along the way.
D2 ah makes sense. Good to know
This is for Advisory not Consulting OP. make that clear.

So Deloitte Advisory is making a new level below consultant called Analyst? And thus the structure will match what Deloitte Consulting already has in place?
Seems reasonable
Thanks D2 and M1. Really helpful answers. Hoping for the best!
Everyone starts at the Consultant level for Advisory. In Deloitte Consulting, there is an Analyst level before Consultant. It needs to happen like yesterday. It’s unbelievable to me that experienced hires who have 1-2 years of experience can be at the same level as campus hires when they come into Deloitte. It’s almost like your prior experience means nothing. You both get promoted at the same time as well.
(A lot of generalities in there. For example, Consulting did the health exchanges in response to regulations, and Advisory has it’s own in-house fintech software suite for tech implementation. The main reason that they’ll eventually combine is because their services are either complementary or overlapping, both of which would benefit from removing the arbitrary legal barrier. For example, Consulting also does M&A work but it tends to be tech integration, while Advisory focuses on pre-deal assistance and day 1 valuations. I could come up with a bunch more of these.)
About time - the internal disconnect between same role names is absurd. New college grads should only be brought in at the Analyst level, and follow the Consulting model of 2 years in role before being promoted to Consultant.
Now you can say SC in Deloitte Advisory = Manager everywhere else
No, I am not a SC.
What are you saying?? They have droves of Analysts from campus every year. This is just saying there will no longer be delineations between BA and BTA

It’s all semantics. Analyst vs consultant is irrelevant IMO as these are all junior people titles. At the end of the day just focus on your level of capability, experience, and comp.

What is the current model?
Advisory. C-SC-M-SM-PPMD
