I am European, 26 and currently earning 75k (T2 Consulting Firm). This is pretty standard (MBB pays 81k). After taxes that makes around 3.4k a month. 10th year in a relatively specialized field and partnership prospects are fantastic. Problem is, I’m completely fried. I find the work boring. I’m constantly asked to do marketing work for which I receive no billable credit. Because of this, I feel like I’m working at least12 hours a day to bill 7. I work with folks in different time zones, so I’m either up till 3 or up at 3. I sometimes nap while my family has dinner so that I can stay up late working. Time to go?

I just had an interaction with a recruiter where he basically told me that I was overpaid and shouldn't expect any other company to match my salary expectations (even though I told him I had an offer that was within my range less than 6 months ago). He said that he didn't think I was "able to articulate any better than someone with a similar level of talent in his book but with 5 more years experience." I have an internal transfer offer to FDD but am also interviewing with PWC. Does it make sense to leverage the fact that I already have an offer in my PWC interviews? My thinking is it could be a pro to show one firm already thinks I am a good candidate for FDD coming from audit, but I know my internal transfer salary is way lower than what I would be offered by PWC so don’t want to unintentionally open that can of worms and lowball myself.
