Do you ever feel guilty for jumping a job within 6 months of joining for a $40k+ salary bump? - not that you should by any means but how do you rationalize it? How do you not get attached to your team/colleagues/etc.?
What is a good salary for a tech person in the US? I have 10 years of development experience
Copywriter with serious imposter syndrome at new job! How do senior writers up their game? Was in-house 1.5 years and underpaid in NYC. With only previous freelance experience (and nonprofit and grant writing before that) figured I had to slog through it for years. Cut to now, 6 months into a new copywriting role at huge tech company. My salary almost quintupled overnight. I think I’m doing great, but that depends on the day and who I work with (no other writers by the way).
Sorry to ask it here. But could not find any relevant Bowl.

What's a reasonable expectation for salary increase (percentage) accompanying a promotion to SM? Heard an awful rumor that firm policy prohibits increase more than 7% because comp is meant to be primarily bonus-based at SM level.

What amount of money would you need to be offered from another company to leave (talk in terms of percentage increase in salary and include your level at the firm)? I’m passively looking and am curious what offer would be considered too good to pass up as an AY2.

I am European, 26 and currently earning 75k (T2 Consulting Firm). This is pretty standard (MBB pays 81k). After taxes that makes around 3.4k a month. I am spending 1/3 of my salary on living expenses and have around 2k/month to save. Compared to the TCs I am reading here in my age range that seems VERY low. How does the US and Europe compare in that regard and how can I make the most out of it?

When is it time to leave?
10th year in a relatively specialized field and partnership prospects are fantastic. Problem is, I’m completely fried. I find the work boring. I’m constantly asked to do marketing work for which I receive no billable credit. Because of this, I feel like I’m working at least12 hours a day to bill 7. I work with folks in different time zones, so I’m either up till 3 or up at 3. I sometimes nap while my family has dinner so that I can stay up late working. Time to go?
I just had an interaction with a recruiter where he basically told me that I was overpaid and shouldn't expect any other company to match my salary expectations (even though I told him I had an offer that was within my range less than 6 months ago). He said that he didn't think I was "able to articulate any better than someone with a similar level of talent in his book but with 5 more years experience." I'm so upset and want to tell him to (professionally) fuck off. Is this a good idea?
My boss decided to fire me today for undisclosed reasons. As a young freelance realtor, what rights do I have? It was a trial period and I never signed a contract. Any help?
Good evening fishes !!

Out of curiosity, anyone work for/know of any European based consultancies hiring US based folks? I’m getting more interested in exploring options outside the US.
I’ve talked with one firm based in Geneva, and their benefit packages were stellar but they froze hiring.
For those of you with kids, I am looking to travel with my wife and son (who’ll be 2.5 years old at the time of travel) to either Greece or Italy - any suggestions on which one to do? Not planning on doing both in one trip and not looking for suggestions to consider alternatives. Simply looking for advice on which one to do with a toddler this age from those that have experience traveling with kids. Leaning towards Italy but I doubt a 2.5 year old cares much about Roman history.

I have an internal transfer offer to FDD but am also interviewing with PWC. Does it make sense to leverage the fact that I already have an offer in my PWC interviews? My thinking is it could be a pro to show one firm already thinks I am a good candidate for FDD coming from audit, but I know my internal transfer salary is way lower than what I would be offered by PWC so don’t want to unintentionally open that can of worms and lowball myself.
I have an Ohio 4-9 math & science license but will move to Colorado. Does anyone have experience with Ohio to Colorado reciprocity? Do they accept OAE scores or will I have to take the tests again?
i have an offer for $120K on 1099 and they want me to sign/start next Monday. I just got called for another position i’ve been interviewing for, on final stages of interview. Would it look bad to negotiate start date with $120K offer for following Monday to allow time for finishing out other interviews? (ideally would like options)
Any suggestions on how to get around the “gatekeeper?” My job relies on calling and visiting cold leads and getting past the gatekeeper and speaking to someone who can make a decision is becoming nearly impossible.

Great data but definitely is less useful because there isn’t any data on what practice you’re in. Pay can drastically be different depending on practice so while you can get a pretty wide range hard to know real market data if you are trying to see where you’d fit.
Completely agree OP. Still solid data nonetheless and definitely better than Glassdoor.
Helpful, thanks for sharing
When I was in the Deloitte bowl, there used to be a similar spreadsheet. Would be cool to gather these bowl specific sheets into one massive sheet for everyone
