Agree. But it’s hard not for people to post a landfill when you get passed over b/c you only show work for say a chocolate bar and they’re looking for someone with “hard candy” experience 🙄”
The one great thing about this business is, no matter how massive the ego, everyone is eventually humbled and no one is spared.
hey ECD let's see your portfolio...
I agree. I did it and I got a new agency gig at 47. Miracles are real.
OP, honestly curious: what makes you think the person with older work suddenly forgot how to be creative?
I’m seeing the books. If you can’t sell yourself....
I did this... it makes so much sense. I had some old work I was hanging on to and chucked it into ‘old stuff’ section. My site looks cleaner and more modern. I’ve seen a few sites with old crusty 4:3 stuff and it looks pretty lame. Unless you have ‘that’ ad in your book which everyone loves
Ps awww shit we are all ACDs on this 😂
Even old great stuff can be updated to be current... don’t throw away something great- just make the story in your book fresh!
Wow a condescending ECD, there’s something completely new.
If you feel I’m talking down to you, maybe you should consider getting up on my level.
Which current website tools do you suggest/recommend?
Depends. I like Cargo Collective personally- good templates, cheap, password protection.
If you’re doing an open, non-password protected site, I’d use Behance/Adobe Spark for the visibility. I also think Instagram is a great place for a portfolio site. But make a separate account for it.
I wouldn’t use the more e-commerce platforms like wix or squarespace but you could. They’re just way more than you need...
