Data standards adopted across the industry and trading partners similar to Germany.
Hospitals need to actually have systems and processes to know what they actually order, how much they have, and where it is; instead of relying on wholesalers.
Single bills from hospitals and they need to receive fines for everytime they incorrectly bill a customer, especially when mailing the bill. This will force their systems and technology to get it right.
Higher risk patients based on lifestyle choices need to may sin-taxes (more) given their risk profile.
Price transparency isn’t a new concept. Just seems to never go anywhere. If we can get that, I think we solve healthcare.
Regulation of margin as it’s ridiculous here - healthcare players across the continuum make double the % profit of the Fortune 500. All of this. Remember, the ACA was an entire revolutionary new program, albeit cut short by the Republicans.
We need an overhaul of our healthcare ecosystem, starting with the insurance system.
Biden needs to appoint Bernie as head of healthcare reform.
To answer the specific question, I think the financing approach is fine but the oversight and administration is a wasteful train wreck.
